Rachmaninoff Piano Competition
2025
The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, ages 12 and older.
Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes and an invitation to perform during our festival in the fall of 2025 at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
Application Deadline: July 10, 2025.
All participants in the solo competition will audition online only.
Please note: The Rachmaninoff Concerto Competition will be held as a live concert audition and will take place on the Sunday following the festival at another location in Philadelphia (not at the Academy of Music).
Solo Competition Rules:
Submit the following materials to tmusfest@gmail.com:

A high-quality video (YouTube link).

Only memorized solo repertoire will be accepted (no concertos or chamber music).

Online application.

A non-refundable application fee of $150.
Program
Group A: Ages 12–15
-
One or two compositions by S. Rachmaninoff, with a duration no longer than 10 minutes.
Prize: $500
Group B: Ages 16–19
-
One or more compositions by S. Rachmaninoff and any Russian composer, with a duration no longer than 15 minutes.
Prize: $700
Group C: Ages 20 and older
-
One or more compositions by S. Rachmaninoff and any Russian composer, with a duration no longer than 30 minutes.
Prize: $1,500
Concerto Competition Rules:

Rachmaninoff’s concertos will be performed on stage with two grand pianos.

Winners will be announced in each age division and awarded a $500 prize.

The Grand Prix Winner will receive an additional $500 as the absolute winner across all divisions.

Apply by sending the application and paying a $100 application fee.

Jury
-
The jury reserves the right to divide prizes or not to award any prizes at its discretion.

If the jury decides to award only a second prize, the monetary award will be half of the announced amount.

Jury members will be announced after the list of participants is finalized. Only jury members whose students are not participating will be invited to judge this competition.
